Site Characterization – Case Histories
Case History Content Catalog
Observation remains the key for all manner of Engineering Geologic field work; there is a general progression of studying remote images first (satellite and/or aerial photographic); then a drive around the site area (where the binoculars come in handy); then a thoughtful plan of reconnaissance across the site, to discover basic geologic units, always being careful to avoid the ” bull in the pasture.” Nearly every site yields a worthy case history, and every case history is studded with Lessons Learned.
