Surface Drainage Issues
Surface Drainage Issues
Surface Drainage Issues include all the drainage measures used to remove water of the road surface and prevent or minimize the concentration of water on the road. Also measures to prevent erosion in ditches and at the inlets and outlets of pipes, ditches, and cross-drains. This includes measures to remove water rapidly off the road surface, such as good cross-slope or crowns and use of rolling dips and deflectors; use or ditches, ditch stabilization, and frequent lead-off ditches or ditch relief cross-drain pipes to move ditch water off the road; and use of berms and catch-water ditches to direct the flow of water. References on Subsurface Drainage are also found in this collection.
